Again big thanks to not only my sponsors but the amazing friends/family support, you made it possible!
Left at 5am and had encounters with fog, cows, dirt and rain more rain and even more rain...but it was an awesome experience if a little soggy!
Got home 19.30 having completed 1050Km in 11.01 of actual riding time...we raised $3079for Blue Hope Support Services
Thanks again to every single person involved.
Thank you to every single one of my sponsors your support in not only hitting the target amount but exceeding it has left me truly humbled.
I hope this 6 week journey has raised awareness of PTSD and depression amongst our friends and colleagues and has raised some much needed funds and awareness to Blue Hope Support Services.
In a few hours I get to do my bit ... to be able to use something you love and are passionate about to raise funds for this cause is my reward.
"I work and have worked with some of the most amazing people in the last 20 years..
they risk their lives to save yours...
occasionally they break...
that's why I am riding for Blue Hope Support Services"
Thank you to all sponsors so far every $ is appreciated and will motivate me, special thanks to Ali of Riders Highway at Tempe for yet again helping me set up another bike! And Police Bank for your assitance.
My Ride Sunday campaign is really kicking off - our first campaign meeting is happening right now! My campaign manager tells me my fundraising goal is a little light on, which made me really think about why I'm doing this event and why I picked Blue HOPE to raise much needed cash.
Blue HOPE was created to provide support to current and former police officers and their families who are suffering with mental health issues. It's like no other organisation, they challenge the traditional methods of supporting police offering anonymous, professional and personal support, all coordinated from men and women who bleed blue.
Watching the Commonwealth Games is inspiring my ride plan - so far I have two options, both at least 1000km and I will be doing it all on one day. My Ride Sunday will be long and tough, but each kilometre will remind me how much each dollar will help a fellow officer struggling with PTSD.
I'll keep sending updates as I prepare for the big day. I'm no good at asking for money, but I'd love your money for this cause - so send it my way! You can either donate per kilometre or a total for the ride, and anything you can afford would be great.
